We want everyone to be able to get a roof quote, whatever they are using to browse. This page says where we stand and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
What we aim for
We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard most public bodies work to, and it is the one we hold ourselves to.
What that means here
- Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- Text meets contrast requirements against its background, including over photographs.
- Images that carry meaning have descriptions; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Headings, landmarks, and form labels are marked up properly, so a screen reader can navigate the page.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without the layout breaking, and the site works on a phone.
- Nothing flashes, auto-plays with sound, or moves in a way you cannot stop.
Where we fall short
The embedded map is supplied by a third party and is difficult to use with a screen reader. Our service area is written out in text on the Locations page for exactly that reason, and you can always call us instead.
Some older photographs in the gallery have shorter descriptions than we would like. We are working through them.
